Summary of Changes
Hello @ehsavoie, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!
This pull request addresses and fixes issue #226 by introducing a crucial null-check before processing TaskUpdate messages. Previously, the system would attempt to convert an update message without verifying its existence, which could lead to runtime errors. The change ensures that the update field is present before any conversion is attempted, thereby enhancing the robustness and stability of the message processing logic.
Highlights
- Defensive Programming: Implemented a check (taskStatus.hasUpdate()) to ensure that a TaskUpdate message has content before attempting to convert it using the message() utility function. This prevents potential null pointer exceptions or errors when an update message is not present.

Code Review
This pull request addresses an issue where an update message could be converted without checking for its existence, which could lead to errors. The fix correctly adds a check using hasUpdate(). My review includes a suggestion to further enhance the robustness of the modified method. It addresses a similar potential crash when dealing with an uninitialized task state, making the conversion logic safer.

Can taskStatus.getState() return null? I don't seem to see that here:
